To those who walk beside us...

It's been over a month since I posted anything...yet, I don't know why! There's much to say...and yet much I can't put into words. It's been crazy and chaotic...Daddy's been working A LOT...and the kids and I have been surviving...but only in part to our dear friends who have stood by our side since this journey began.

Adoption is a call many of us hear...but a call that may not lead us all in the same direction. It's wonderful to think we should all add a precious little one (or big one) to our family...but here lately, I'm convinced that JUST AS IMPORTANT are those who hear the call to STAND BESIDE those who are adding the little one(s) to their family. Here are a few examples:

The friend who calls just to check in and see how things are going...and keeps you in the loop of the world that doesn't seem so familiar right now...

The friend who decides to come hang with you and the kiddos for a couple of days and has the wine poured when you come back down after kissing five little faces good night...

The friend who is still willing to bring dinner by or come and cook dinner for you and the kids six months AFTER the airport...

The friend who cleans out her kids closets and sends you three boxes of beautiful hand-me-downs....

The friend who offers to come sit at your house after the kids go to bed so you and your husband can go grab dessert (or a drink)...

The friend who took beautiful pictures of your kids that would just make a perfect Christmas card...is it Christmas already??

The friend who offers to move girls coffee night to your house because your husband is working too late for you to make it to the coffee shop...

The friend who shows up with a motor scooter to entertain your boys on a Sunday afternoon...

These are just a few of the examples of the things going on around these parts. We are blessed...we are lucky...we are so very thankful. If you think you are hearing the call to adopt...but perhaps right now doesn't feel like the time...or there are other factors that make it seemingly impossible right now...find a family who has walked the road...and walk beside them. YOU may be their lifeline...
